Suicide Squad 2 first draft complete

Suicide Squad 2” co-writer Todd Stashwick said that they have a draft finished and that he was proud of it.

Stashwick was unable to provide any specifics about the plot or even the characters that were involved. Stashwick did say it was a direct sequel to the first movie, meaning that it‘s not an attempted reboot.

Comicbook said that Gavin O‘Connor is signed on to direct “Suicide Squad 2.” O‘Connor has worked with Stashwick on other projects such as “Jane Got a Gun.” O‘Connor and Stashwick started talking about the franchise, once they heard the project was approved. Stashwick said that the sequel will reunite stars Margot Robbie and Will Smith.

Suicide Squad sequel details are few

It‘s expected that the main characters will return and that events will follow what happens after the “Birds of Prey” movie featuring Harley Quinn, which is the next scheduled project with the hope of production starting in 2019.

While it‘s too early to say, the story can change between now and release, this is only the first draft.

Warner Bros. was initially prepping for a 2018 shooting scheduled, but was forced back to 2019, because of Robbie‘s full schedule with “Birds of Prey.” That Quinn-driven film features a long list of DC Comics heroines including Huntress, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya.

Stashwick is a DC Comics veteran

Stashwick has called himself more of a DC Comics guy than a Marvel fan. Stashwick said he‘s excited to have the opportunity to be a part of a project that he‘s passionate about and it‘s another thing he can check off on his bucket list.

For Stashwick this is a return to the DC Universe, He appeared twice as “The Mask,” Batman prequel “Gotham.” This is Stashwick‘s first feature writing credit, but with his experience in the DC villain circle, he may be the perfect choice, when it comes to writing an entire film about them.
