NFL Power Rankings Week 14: Cowboys, Texans, Chargers surging, Green Bay packing it in

The power rankings for Week 14 have arrived, and right now, the state of Texas is a football hotbed! Now, winners of four straight, the that no team has been able to do this entire season – slow down the New Orleans Saints.

Cowboys starting to peak

The Dallas Cowboys are just 7-5, but this team is red hot. Undefeated over the past month, and with a favorable schedule, the Boys may be that one team no one wants to face in the playoffs.

Don’t miss on the latest updates

According to a CBS Sports report, defeated the Saints 13-10 this past week and looked mighty impressive in doing so, especially on defense.

Holding Saints quarterback Drew Brees to 127 yards passing is rare, however, limiting the entire New Orleans team to 176 total yards the entire game is flat out incredible! Dallas is closing in on the NFC East title, which is very impressive when you consider where they were five weeks ago.

Now over to the other team in Texas that just keeps winning, the Houston Texans. Teams that start the year 0-3 are usually left in the dust, but not the Texans. After stumbling out of the gate, Houston has won nine straight and is in cruise control in the AFC South.

One more team worth mentioning are the LA Chargers. The Chargers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night football by the final of 33-30. The win was Los Angeles‘ second in a row and eighth in their last nine outings. While the Rams are getting most of the media attention, Philip Rivers is very quietly putting together an MVP type season, and the Chargers are rolling.

Packers, Panthers swoon continues

What happened to the ? Injuries? Yes. However, it is no excuse to lose at home to an Arizona team that can’t get out of their own way.

ESPN indicates that the loss on Sunday not only put a severe damper on the Packers playoff odds, but it also cost head coach Mike McCarthy his job.

McCarthy was long rumored to be at odds with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and evidently on the heels of an awful loss to the punchless Arizona Cardinals, the Green Bay brass has apparently seen enough from McCarthy

As for the Panthers, that 6-2 record after eight games has now shrunk to 6-6 following their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon. The loss was Carolina’s fourth in a row.
