Boris Johnson, U.K. Prime Minister, posted a 5 minutes video on Twitter on Sunday thanking the doctors who have saved his life. He also mentioned he will not be joining duties immediately. He was hospitalized for a week long for Covid-19 treatment. He appeared too pale and gaunt in the video and said that the treatment has left him weak so he will not be able to resume his leadership of the government as of now.
Johnson thanked the National Health Service profusely for all the care he had received during the treatment. He said the services were unbeatable and the courage of all the individuals working in health care currently from doctors, nurses to cleaners and cooks is applause worthy and that he can’t repay his debt.
The prime minister of UK mentioned he specifically wants to thank the 2 nurses who stood by his bedside for 48 hours when the things could have gone completely wrong. He will continue to the recovery at his official country residence, Chequers. The decision has been made by him and the cabinet as a whole that till the time he rejoins office, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab will be working on his behalf.
The government has released a statement mentioning that the Parliament will resume activity on April 21. House of Commons authorities has been considering to use technology to carry out the essential constitutional work. There has been developments but UK is still far to return back to normality. The death toll has risen by 737 in Britain.
