Domino’s has partnered with Rad Power Bikes to launch an e-bike pizza delivery program across the US, as per an agreement announced on Tuesday.
The move comes in after the success of an e-bike pilot program which Domino’s launched previously this year in order to test the response to e-bike pizza delivery service. As per the popular pizza restaurant chain, the locations where Rad e-bikes were utilized over cars showed faster pizza delivery time as well as better customer service grades.
The Seattle based e-bike company designed a tailored delivery solution for Domino’s based on its RadCity Step-Thru e-bike. The e-bikes are the typical electric 2-wheelers with motors which assist in pedalling for 25-40 miles in a single 20 MPH high speed charge. The electric bikes also include rear and front insulated cargo storing spaces which can hold up to twelve large pizzas in addition to sides and drinks.
Well, it isn’t difficult to notice the allure. E-bikes are not just eco-friendly than fuel cars but sometimes can also prove to be faster when the riders do not have to pass through heavy traffic or find parking. And as they are similar to traditional bicycles, this new program opens new delivery job opportunities for people who don’t want to or cannot drive.
